Tonight, as we come together to breathe life into the timeless tale of "Hello, Dolly!", I feel compelled to pause and express my deep gratitude. Gratitude not just for the opportunity to direct such a remarkable production, but also for the unwavering support and guidance I've received along the way. While this support has come from many different people, I wish to specifically thank Rob Crouse, our founder and, more importantly, our friend. Rob was initially slated to direct "Hello, Dolly!"
Last year, we bid farewell to Rob, whose wisdom and encouragement have left an indelible mark on all of us. He was more than a mentor; he was a beacon of inspiration, reminding us of the profound impact we can have on each other. Maya Angelou once said, "I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." Rob's legacy lives on through the countless lives he touched, and for that, we are eternally grateful.
To my wonderful cast, crew, and production team:
Over the past few years, it has become abundantly clear to me that Capital City Productions isn't merely a theater company—it's a family. A family bound not only by our love for the stage but also by the genuine care and support we extend to one another. Whether it's lending a helping hand during a set change or offering words of encouragement after a challenging rehearsal, each of you embodies the spirit of camaraderie and kinship that makes this organization truly special.
As we step onto the stage tonight, let us carry with us the memories of those who have shaped us, the bonds that unite us, and the profound impact we have on one another. Together, let's create magic, not just for the audience, but for each other.
