Director’s Note
I’m absolutely astonished that I’m at the end of yet another spectacular production with the Cardinal’s Players. The cast and crew have dedicated hundreds of hours of hard work and determination toward the creation of “In the Heights.” As you will see, this show is unlike any other. And I am proud that my third year at Spellman has afforded me the opportunity to direct the storytelling of tremendously personable characters.
“In the Heights” is not your typical Broadway musical. The characters we meet are real; they are our brothers, our sisters, our grandmas, our friends. The struggles they face are reminiscent of our own rites of passage. What we learn from this storytelling masterpiece is that in the end, with love and support, we will all find meaning and our purpose.
Thank you to the entire cast and crew of the Cardinal's Players, some of whom have actually endured several of the show’s themes. They have created a truly awe-inspiring production. May you find joy, inspiration, and hope as you watch our production. These are all of our stories presented in a way for everyone to remember that you are not alone. In fact, you are home.
Thank you for supporting the Cardinal's Players. We hope that you enjoy the show. And remember, paciencia y fe!
