DIRECTORS NOTE

As a child, I had quite an imagination and really loved “the arts”. Call it “right brained”, call it ADD, call it what you will… I often had “things” swirling around in my head when I should have been paying attention to something or someone else. It was even stated fairly often in my school report cards that I “daydream too much”. However, while in elementary school I was cast in two musical productions and that was it, I was hooked! I’ve been involved with theater ever since. It’s a fantastic creative outlet! Musical theater is now a major part of my life! The Wizard of Oz had it’s beginnings in my life over a year ago when I took on the task of building a Wizard of Oz float for the 2015 4th of July parade. A short time later we were in need of a Director for the production. I was thrilled to have been given that opportunity. I knew it would be a huge task that could only be done with the right production crew and the right cast. Prayers began for the right people to fall into my lap because I knew I couldn’t do it on my own and I needed all the best talent I could find. MIRACLES HAPPENED!!! It can’t be explained any other way. I am so lucky to have the crew that I have! I also can’t say enough how proud I am of the entire cast! They have been a thrill to work with! Casting 35 children can produce many challenges, however, our kids have been WONDERFUL!!! It’s been my absolute pleasure watching them learn and grow. I feel honored to have been a part of what could be a great love of theater in these kids’ life. There are many cast members whose first acting gig is THIS SHOW! I hope they inspire others to be brave and give theater a try. If you are considering being a part of live theater… WE WELCOME YOU and hope to see you at our next audition in 2017.  Thank you for coming, ENJOY THE SHOW!
