AUSTIN WRIGHT (Director)
Austin is so excited to be back with Carlsbad Community Theatre directing this wild production! Directing credits include Peter Pan Jr., Alice in Wonderland Jr. (CCT), Shrek: The Musical (BTAA). Austin has also been the director of Moonlight Youth Theatre’s summer camp for the past two years and has served as a substitute teacher at Scripps Ranch Performing Arts Academy. He is a part-time actor working with regional theatre companies such as San Diego Musical Theatre, Moxie Theatre, and The Barnstage Company. Austin is looking forward to a new chapter of his life as the Hotel Entertainment Coordinator at Legoland California Resort. BFA Musical Theatre-University of Arizona.
OLIVIA HARDY (Music Director)
Olivia is the choral director at Valley Middle School in Carlsbad, where she produces annual musicals put on by the choral department. She has performed at Vista’s Moonlight Amphitheatre appearing in numerous shows such as Hunchback of Notre Dame, Les Miserables, Beauty and the Beast, Ragtime, Children of Eden and Evita. Olivia is proud to be working with CCT, the organization where she got her first role as the Owl, in the Carlsbad Youth Theatre production of Charlotte’s Web. Since then, she continued performing in many of their shows over the years (Beauty and the Beast, Joseph, Into the Woods, Sound of Music, Fiddler) and has been the musical director for a few of the youth shows (Into the Woods Jr, Seussical Jr, High School Musical Jr and Grease). KAYLEN LASH (Choreographer)
Kaylen is overjoyed to be returning to CCT and this time as the choreographer for Lion King Jr. She has been involved with CCT since she was 11 years old. Favorite roles include;a Council Member (Hairspray Jr.), Princess Fiona (Shrek the Musical Jr.), Silly Girl #3 (Beauty and the Beast), and a Chimney Sweep Tapper (Mary Poppins). She was also fortunate to be an original member of the CCT Showcase Company cast. Currently a Musical Theatre major at Mira Costa Community College, she just closed their production of Pirates of Penzance. During her 4 years of show choir at Carlsbad High School in Encore (1 year) and Sound Express (3 years), Kaylen developed a passion and love for performing, choreography and teaching younger students. She is currently the show choir choreographer for Calavera Hills Middle School, Jefferson Middle School, and Carlsbad High School (Lancer Choir). She is grateful for her influencial teachers and advisors, and thanks Austin, Olivia, and Nathan for being a part of her first CCT creative team. Lastly, much love and thanks always to her family for their support and guidance. Enjoy this wild production of Lion King Jr.!
