Director's Notes:

      1906. The American Dream? Racism. Immigration. Political Division. Women's Inequality. As a society, it seems we have learned very little in 114 years. Those who ignore history are doomed to repeat it? Both the timeliness and depth of this material has brought lessons to all of us, and as we are presenting it tonight. One of the things I love best about theatre. It's a great teacher.

I wish you could know these young people as I do. They are strong, smart, creative, passionate, inquisitive. Yes, impulsive too. Sometimes obstinate and illogical. Some are still wide eyed innocents and some have had that ripped away from them years ago. But all have proven to have strong convictions, good hearts, and the most important thing  - hope. 

I shake my head at the evening news, cry at reports of violence and worry about all of our children and the future of this world of ours. It is all so very sad. But then I look at these young people - courageous, industrious, caring and empathetic. And I know it's going to be okay. Maybe not right now. But just get out of their way. They got this. -    Ms M
