Disney's Beauty and the Beast - February 05 - February 08, 2015

Cedar Springs High School

 Director's Note

Thanks for coming to our show.  The last 9 weeks have been a whirlwind of excitement, stress, laughs, sweat, and countless hours of work.  However, I know that it has all been worth it.  This group of students (over 85 of them) have put their heart and soul into this show and I am truly proud of all they have done.  Each and every one has exceeded our expecations.

When we decided on "Beauty and the Beast" we knew that this show would take a lot to make it right, and we wanted it be more than that.  This is the first show that all our costumes have been outsourced and this will go down as one of the biggest sets that has ever graced our stage (and hand-built by the cast members).  Just like all the work the cast has done those things truly helped this show become what it is today.

A big thanks also need to go out to the ones in the background that really made this show happen.  Without Ms. Linda Janik doing all our vocal work, Ms. Liz Bradford doing the choreography, and the many hours put in by our student directors, Erika Cardinal and Bryan Taylor, there is no way that we would be where we are today.  A lot of times they get overlooked, but everyone needs to know what a great group we have working on these shows.  A great supporting cast behind the scenes definitely makes what happens on-stage that much better.

To everyone out there I hope you see how alive and well theatre is in Cedar Springs.  We are constantly trying to get this program better and better every year.  That is not possible with a great student base, wonderful fine arts classes, and support from all of you.

Thanks agian, and hope you enjoy this as much as I did. Justin Harnden (Director)
