Notes from Director/Choreographer Tracy Warren and Music Director Brandon Warren
When we first started discussing projects to lead CenterStage Theater Company out of the pandemic shut down, we had some very specific criteria to consider. First, we needed a show with a small enough cast to achieve social distancing, a show that could successfully play in an outdoor venue in order to facilitate having a live audience, and a show that would lift spirits after an especially grueling year...Out of this search came The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. And what a show it is! Winner of the Tony and the Drama Desk Awards for Best Book, the show is filled with heart and humor, and we are all over the moon to have had the opportunity to work with such worthy material.
A special shout out to Madison Sinsel for her graphic design and publicity work on the show. Thank you, Madi! And a very special thank you to our parent volunteers for their help with set up and strike each night...a HUGE job in this outdoor venue!
