Seussical The Musical has always resonated with us at Centerstage. The story, full of fun and memorable characters, is heartwarming. While we are certainly familiar with the play, having produced the junior version back in 2012, this full length Seussical has even more to appreciate. The play reminds us to value those different than us, a bleak reminder of our own world. Horton the Elephant is shunned by his peers for being different and caring for someone who needs help. His ability to fight for humanity, even when it comes at a personal cost, urges us to become advocates for people in our own world. Above all else, Seussical is a story of unrelenting compassion and I hope audiences can take away that “a person’s a person, no matter how small.”
I am extremely proud of this cast and crew. I think we can all agree that what we have here is the result of hard work and dedication. I want to give a special thanks to my co-directors and producing team, Kim, Chloe, Kristin, Taylor, MJ, Linda and Rebecca for making this production possible and holding it at such a high standard.
I wish to personally thank Centerstage faculty, volunteers, parents and students for continuing the legacy of summer theatre. It could not happen without you!
