Little Shop of Horrors - October 24 - October 25, 2025

DIRECTOR'S NOTE

Welcome to Little Shop of Horrors! On the surface, this musical delights with its campy humor, toe-tapping Motown-inspired music , and a man-eating plant that keeps getting bigger and bolder. But beneath the outrageous fun lies a message that is both timeless and strikingly relevant: whatever you feed will grow.

Seymour’s journey begins with small, almost harmless choices—a drop of blood here, a compromise there. Each decision seems insignificant, yet with every “feeding,” the plant—and the consequences—expand beyond control. It’s a sharp metaphor for the habits, desires, and compromises we nurture in our own lives. Whether it’s ambition, fear, resentment, or even kindness and hope, what we choose to give our time, energy, and attention will inevitably flourish.

This story challenges us to look inward. What are we feeding? Are we cultivating compassion, creativity, and community—or something darker that might quietly take root? Little Shop of Horrors invites us to laugh, to sing along, and to leave the theatre reflecting on the power of our own choices.

Thank you to this amazing cast and crew for their hard work and dedication in telling this quirky, thrilling cautionary tale . We hope you enjoy it and allow it to take root in your imagination. May it inspire all of us to feed wisely.

STUDENT MUSIC DIRECTOR'S NOTE:

Directing this play has been nothing but a dream come true. To be apart of all 4 musicals that we have produced in the last four years is an honor that I hold so close to my heart. I’ve watched a majority of the cast grow in their theater journey and to be able to see them and help them with the show was so sentimental to me. Especially those with leads. I wouldn’t change this experience for the world. It went by too fast I can’t believe we are already done. I am proud of everyone included in this production.

Dramaturg's Note:

“Little Shop of Horrors” is a campy musical with music by Alan Menken, but its origins trace back to a 1960 black-and-white film by Roger Corman. The setting of Skid Row reflects the struggles of class and race in America, echoing movements like the Civil Rights era. The show’s true message isn’t just “don’t feed the plants,” but a reminder that even in your lowest moments, there’s hope for a brighter future—your own “Somewhere That’s Green”—as long as you stay true and don’t let greed, like Audrey II, take over. Huge thanks to the amazing cast, Mrs. Patrice Williams, the talented tech crew, and my incredible managers—Dakota Lundberg, Jay Singleton, Dharuna Chandramohan, Vienna Lewis, and Laila Davis—for bringing this show to life!
