Welcome to our enchanting show!
The cast and crew of Theatre Centreville proudly present
the CVHS spring musical – unlike any spring musical
you have seen before.
Tonight, you will enjoy the fruits of their virtual and in-person labors.
These students spent six hours a day learning on screens
and then showed up for more time to spend on screens
while learning their songs and dances or designing their tech plans.
They learned where they would stand on stage
by looking at slideshows with diagrams similar to football plays.
They learned dances despite the lag in playing accompaniment tracks.
They learned songs and lines without paper scripts and scores.
They endeavored to do something that no one else has done at CVHS, very few have attempted in FCPS and most others would not even consider.
Then, they began in-person rehearsals.
They had 14 days to learn where to go onstage,
figure out how to be distanced offstage,
practice song and dance together,
create and polish blocking,
put together technical cues and run transitions –
plus record the entire show.
Theatre Centreville has triumphed like never before.
These students are fearless. Dedicated and passionate.
Driven. Creative. Solution-oriented.
This production took more than the typical Theatre village.
A virtual family came together to create magic –
a once-in-a-lifetime event.
