Puck's Potion - February 26 - March 07, 2015

Chaparral High School

 End Notes

A Note from the Director:

Welcome to our show.  While you may not have heard of Puck’s Potion before, I am sure the songs will be playing in your head for days to come.  This is a wonderful adaptation of William Shakespeare’s A Mid-Summer Night’s Dream. A few years back, the audiences at Eaglecrest High School, Thunder Ridge Middle School, and Chaparral High School experienced the magic of Puck and his mystics.  The storyline is simple.  Four young lovers are not following their hearts.  Puck tries to help them with his magic, but just makes things worse.  Once the potion is removed and their eyes are opened, true love finds a way to prevail.

It has been an incredible journey for our students to bring this show to life.  The educational experience of working with the composer, learning new music, finding new ways to deliver dialogue, and designing a show one has never seen before is an experience like no other.  Theatre and music continues to enrich the lives of so many students on a daily basis at Chaparral and to provide them with the skills and tools for the rest of their lives.

This show was written by some dear friends, Richard and Brianna Lindahl and Chaparral’s very own Jerry Vander Does.  After tonight, I am sure you will agree this is a Broadway caliber show! I cannot thank them enough for trusting me to direct their show for a second time.  It is a true pleasure for me to bring the magic back to the Chaparral stage.  I would also like to thank the Patrons for the Performing Arts, the Chaparral administration and staff, my family, and you for attending tonight’s production. As always, please stay current with Chaparral Theatre on facebook. Facebook.com/ChaparralTheatre.

Enjoy the magic in the air,

David Peterson
