James and the Giant Peach - May 06 - May 15, 2016

Children's Theatre of Long Beach

 End Notes

Notes from the Director

As a child, James and the Giant Peach was one of my favorite books. Roald Dahl was my go to author when I was in the mood for adventure. It is with great joy that we present this brand new musical version.

Children's Theatre of Long Beach strives to produce plays and musicals based on classic and modern acclaimed literature for children. Here at our Mainstage shows we cast a wide variety of community members from professionals to novices who bring so much to our community. CTLB includes a wide range of performers that represent Long Beach the international city and its diverse spectrum of individuals.

We hope you enjoy this production as much as we have enjoyed creating it for you.

Childrens Theater of Long Beach

CTLB creates extraordinary theatre experiences that educate, challenge and inspire young people and their communities. Our Mainstage performances feature seasoned adult artists working side-by-side with eager young artists in a show geared toward families.

The Mainstage Performances help raise funds for our children’s theatre programs, including education and outreach programs aimed at bringing theatre opportunities to kids of each and every ability, socioeconomic and cultural background. The success of our events is dependent on the generosity and support of community minded individuals and businesses. Our organization’s ability to continue to operate is due in large part to the generous support of individual donors who believe in our mission, as well as gifts from businesses and corporations. CTLB’s creative team of theatre professionals, educators and social workers believes that theatre experiences will educate, challenge and inspire young people toward more creative and productive lives; fostering expression and opportunities to build life long frienships and social emotional health. We hope that you share our view that the arts are an essential part of our community, and that all children, families, and communities deserve the opportunity to experience the joy of live theatre.
