The complexity of Newsies required an extraordinary amount of help from parents and friends of CCS. To each of you who are named here and to any we have inadvertently left unnamed, thank you. This show could never have happened without your support, encouragement, and yes, some hard labor.
The directors wish to think the following individuals and families for their help and support:
- The stage-build crew and those who came to help during so many Saturdays in April—students, parents, and even grandparents! Special thanks to Joe Anderson, Wayne Carlson, Mike Johnson, Steve Kveton, Joel Maart, Nic Morgan, and Wayne Morgan.
- Mrs. Stacy Morgan for providing stage build lunch.
- The Anderson family for going above and beyond what we could have asked in helping with this production. You are stars.
- My dad, Wayne Carlson, for building the printing press and hauling it from Michigan to Minnesota.
- My mom, Jean Carlson, and her oodles of talent, for painting Jack’s paintings in a few hours on a Saturday—even though you wished you had a lot more time.
- Joe Anderson, and Brent Hoernemann for hanging lights.
- Jeff Jewson for facilitating mic rentals.
- My brother, Daniel Carlson, for drawing Jack’s Pulitzer political cartoon and rendering of Katherine.
- Cindy Matson for providing helpful feedback.
- Bob and Heidi Lee and Amy Anderson for planning concessions and entry decor.
- Jonah and Jennie for all of the amazing choreography and direction assistance.
- Mr. Elliott for being our #1 tech guy, music man, and for making my crazy ideas a reality (again).
- Christy Ferris and Sarah Johnson for administrative support.
- Our amazing musicians, especially Jessica Solarek for providing rehearsal support as well.
- Mrs. Crystal Kveton, Pastor Ben Gunderson, and Seth Elliott for bringing their performance skill and years of wisdom to this youthful production.
- The rest of the Elliott fam for putting up with your parents and helping us do the thing we have all come to love.
