Growing up in CYT San Diego, I did Schoolhouse Rock Live! as many times as I could. I still use the songs from these cartoons for everyday life now! It was one of my very favorite shows to be a part of; so getting the opportunity to do it again, but as the Director/Co-Choreographer this time, means more to me than I even know how to describe. I truly love getting to be so involved with CYT Waco, and to be able to do it with one of my favorite shows is an amazing feeling.
To the Cast,
Thank you. Thank you for letting me throw 22 numbers at you in just 12 rehearsals *almost* flawlessly. You all blow my mind with how hard you work, and how dedicated you are. Thank you for your commitment to all the crazy costume changes, and big dance numbers. I LOVE getting to work with you all not only while we grow in theater, but while we grow in Christ. It is such an amazing feeling to come into rehearsal each weekend, exhausted from the week, but excited by the joy I see in all of your smiling faces. I always leave feeling more energized than when I arrived. So truly, thank you all for making this the most fun, most memorable, most exciting Schoolhouse Rock Live! ever.
To the Parents and Families,
We could not have done this with out you. Thank you for making my vision come to life. Thank you for all of the beautiful props that you were able to find or create, even if I didn’t know the right name for it. Thank you for all the time you put into building and painting such a beautiful set. Thank you for finding dozens of costume pieces and shoes to really bring everything together. Thank you for the gorgeous posters, programs, press releases, and the amazing car paint. All of which draw people into this CYT experience. Thank you for the stunning lobby you spent hours setting up to get people excited the moment they walk in the door. Thank you for all of the time and dedication YOU put in to make sure this is an amazing experience not only for your kids, but for your whole CYT Family and all of the patrons coming to visit. I know there is so much that you all do, and so much time you donate. Please know that it does not go unnoticed, or unappreciated.
CYT Waco has been such a blessing on me, and my family in the last 2 years. It is my home away from home, my chosen family. Every one of you has made such an impact on me in such a wonderful way, thank you. I would also like to thank my best friend, my other half, the StEnds to my BeFri, Stephanie. I don’t think I was prepared, when I started with CYT, to make such an amazing, lifelong friend. You are a beautiful person both inside and out and I cannot thank you enough for the all of the support you have given me both in and outside of CYT. I would not be who I have become without you. But mostly, I would like to thank God for everything he has blessed me with, and for guiding me to be here today.
