A NOTE FROM THE DIRECTOR…

Every time I sit down and attempt to string words together which illustrate my thoughts on the current show, or the journey taken to reach this point, I find myself struggling to come up with a main idea or point of view that succinctly shares my experience on the production. With this show, however, there are many things I can look at which bring me both pride and excitement. This is my 7^th musical and 14^th major production here at CCDS, and while the weather wasn’t necessarily my biggest supporter, the show managed to become, once again, a great adventure.

Luckily all I had to do this time around was think of the talent and tenacity of this group of seniors. Many of them have been in my shows since the 8th grade, and it has been such a treat watching them grow both as performers and amazing young adults as well. This year’s show has attracted a great group of senior leaders, and I offer up a special thank you to my Five-Year Club - Ishan, Carson, Victoria, Douglas, and Emma, who have been with me for the past five musicals in a row.

Very few shows seem to be "record breaking," but this one may be one of them, with the largest cast (51!) of CCDS students on stage at least in my seven years here, if not in the past 10+ years of drama productions. This doesn’t even include the numbers of students who worked backstage, played in the band, or helped build and paint the sets.

In the end, I cannot even comprehend pulling these shows off without the great parent support I receive. My utmost thanks to Cindy Bismayer and Kathy Paff for their unending support and assistance in helping make this train run smoothly. I also would like to thank Stephanie Wietmarschen, Glenn Lindahl, Tracey Suekoff and Sandy Cantor for everything they do above and beyond the call of duty.

So with that, I finally say thanks to all of you, for supporting these students and the arts. You have so many choices for how you spend your time, and I am thankful that you have chosen to be here supporting theatre and the arts at CCDS.
