Bugsy Malone JR. - May 09 - May 10, 2025

Circle Christian Arts Academy

 Director's Note

A letter from the Director:

Whipped cream and ganstah’s and pies! Oh my! From start to finish, Bugsy Malone Jr. is a rip-roaring representation of the power that just a ‘little love’ has, especially when given to those we may view as our ‘enemies.’ We see this same concept in scripture when Jesus told his followers…

“You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven… If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? And if you greet only your own people, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.” Matthew 5:43-48

In the midst of a culture riddled with ideology and practices meant to divide people against each other, it is so important to remember these words of our Savior and put them into practice in our everyday lives. I hope and pray that through this show, you will walk away with a new found appreciation for the impact loving the people around you can have on your family, community, and culture around you!

Throughout this season, we experienced some bumps and unexpected setbacks. We actually had an entirely different show picked out and then found out at the end of our first semester we were not going to be allowed to perform that show the way we needed to, so we had to switch gears and find another one that would work for this cast! My thought was pretty simple..“Alright Lord, I didn’t know this would happen, but You did. Show us the way!” When Mrs. Lisa sent me this show, I immediately felt at peace and knew this was the musical we were meant to perform this year. The cast, crew, staff, and volunteers here at Circle have been so incredible to work with through it all and I am so proud to present this showing of Bugsy Malone Jr. to you today.

Thank you for coming and supporting all of our efforts. We do this all for the Lord, to glorify Him with excellence in everything we do both on and off the stage, just like our founders Randy & Lisa Estelle have taught us. I dedicate this show to Mr. Randy and the legacy he passed on for us to carry. In his honor, I encourage you to do a little ‘hootin’ and hollerin’ and make a joyful noise to celebrate these students and all their hard work. Without further ado, let’s get to splurgin! Enjoy the show!
