OUR HANDFASTING CEREMONY

A handfasting in its simplest form is a unity ritual in which a couple's hands are bound together with a cord, symbolizing the couple's connection and devotion to one another. 

A handfasting represents a couple's binding promise to one another, which over time has led to the adoption of the phrase "tying the knot," an expression that is still used to this day!

As our celebrants so aptly say, 

"The ties of this handfasting are not formed by these ribbons, or even by the knots connecting them. They are formed instead by your vows, by your pledge, and your two hearts, now bound together as one."
