As I sit down to write out my director’s letter for Guys
& Dolls, my mind drifts back, thinking about the last
three years of leading CAHS's musical theatre program
- all the ups and downs we have endured. What a gift
I have been given. The gift of impacting the lives of
young performers through theatre. It's far too easy to
get bogged down in the tyranny of what needs to
happen in the here and now of a project and lose sight
of what we have been given; what we should be
grateful for. So with that in mind, I want to say thank
you!
Thank you, to our audiences, for your continued
support of our students and their work. It is a privilege
to guide these children through their artistic journeys.
They are the reason we do what we do and the reason
you keep returning again and again.
Thank you to all of the families and faculty members
that have given their time and resources to make this
piece of theatre, and others, grow and come to life.
We could not do this without you.
Thank you to the administration of the Classical
Academies for your unwavering commitment to the
arts and artistic training for our students.
Finally, thank you to the students, themselves, for
their commitment to artistic excellence, passion for
theatre and the giant hearts they bring to every
project we work on. I am blessed! There is no doubt
about it. This journey has been a beautiful one. This
year has been filled with so many new experiences.
It has been everything I had hoped it would be and I
hope that you will enjoy the fruits of our labors.
Thank you for being with us tonight and always.
Enjoy the show!
