Hairspray - April 28 - April 30, 2016

Clay Chalkville High School

 End Notes

Notes from the Director:

Mere words cannot express how extremely proud I am of this, my first, production.  To share this moment with this group of students is celestial choreography at it's finest. The quality of the cast, orchestra, and stage crew are outstanding.  A truly successful production involves more than what is presented on stage.  It should not only be an artistic learning experience, but a personal one as well.  I'm especially proud of the cooperation, mutual respect, openmindedness, the level of committment, and the teamwork that has been demonstrated.  No stone was left unturned!

We have all grown and blossomed through this process; we've learned to put our egos aside and discovered that whether 1 line or 50, on or off stage, everyone shares equally in the pride and success of such an accomplishment.

I would like to extend my personal gratitude and thanks to the CCHS Administration, and faculty members for being so gracious as to lend me your time, talents, and support,  as I attempted to eat my first elephant. I appreciate you more than you know!

To Michael Williams, our five star choreographer, I don't know what I would have done without you. The kids and I are eternally grateful for your service. Thank you for seeing our potential and believing that we could pull off Broadway choreography.

Ms. Hardee and Mr. Williams (my mentor), thank you for helping me hold it in the road and flickering the light at the end of the tunnel.  Mr. Mauldin, THANK YOU, for making sure every word and note was heard clearly.

I am the product of the most supportive family on this side of heaven. Countless hours you've spent enouraging and motivating me, and caring for my love bugs, Adam and Zoe. They've become children of the theater, as Zoe threatened to take Star's role as Little Inez, and Adam has tapped into his creative side behind the spotlight.  To Bob the Builder, I don't have the words to thank you for going above and beyond to help us make our dreams become reality.

To my students, you guys ROCK!!!! I can't call names; I'll forget someone, but you all know I love you to the moon and back.

My Seniors:

Blake-The sky is NOT the limit for you.  You've got to be one of the BEST Ednas I've ever seen.  Travolta better watch out!!! Go confidently in the direction of your dreams.

Logan-I've watched you grow up over this year, and I wouldn't change the movie if someone paid me. The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.

Brooke-I'm so thankful for the time we spent working on the set; you're a phenomenal young lady and I am excited to see what's in your future.

Trey-What can I say? You've got BIG dreams, and only YOU can make them reality. Your talent is going to take you places.  Ride the waves, like only YOU can.

Viktoria-Thank you for stepping in when you were needed.  You've been a joy to know.  This has been a decision making year for you, and you did a GREAT job doing it.

To the rest of the cast and crew:

It's all up from here!!!! Let's keep GROWING!!!!! Let the hands do what the hands do and the feet do what the feet do.

Peace and Blessings...now let's snack and take selfies!!!
