ShowTown USA - August 20 - August 21, 2016

ClubHouse Players

 End Notes

DIRECTOR'S NOTE

I would first like to thank you all for taking the time to come see our show.  We here at Lauderdale West have been working extremely hard on this production for many months. Our original plans for a spring show was forced to turn into a summer show.  I thank all those who stuck with it and gave their all. It's been a fun and bumpy road at the same time. But I hope that it all payed off in the end.  And here we are.  We really hope you are enjoying it or have already enjoyed it.

Over a year ago, I moved into Lauderdale West with my mother.  As soon as I walked into this auditorium it brought back so many memories.  I am so glad Keven Kane, our landlord, approved us to live here.  I had a feeling even before setting foot in the Joe Byer Auditorium.  I already felt something the moment we were driving past the huge standing structure by the lake that Keven said was the club house for Lauderdale West.  Days after, I said to myself, “I would love to be part of the shows here”.  I started volunteering at the Lauderdale West Info channel 8001, when Richard Nalesnik told me that they were in need of a director.  A swarm of about fifty or so people came to the first meeting of our new theatre group: The ClubHouse Players.  And we were on our way. I decided to do a tailor-made show for the different various abilities among the folks in the theatre group.  We wanted to do a musical, of course.  So, after we decided on songs, I strung together a little story for our musical numbers.  And from that, “ShowTown U.S.A. was spawned. Along the way, I started an Improv group to get our performers back in the swing of things and on their toes.  I also got to know them each pretty well in the year we have been rehearsing for this show. I was told this place has a bunch of hams with strong personalities. And they were right. But through it wall we believed in it and had the desire to see it through, so here we are.                                             Yours truly,  Omar Robau
