    Artistic Director

    Rachel is thrilled to return as Artistic Director for this year's production of Mary Poppins. She brings with her a depth of teaching and performance experience in the areas of music, dance, and theater that is invaluable to Coast’s Performing Arts programs. In addition to five years of teaching music and literature prior to teaching and directing here in Cambria, Ms. German’s credits include: Artistic Director for Thoroughly Modern Millie (2018), Music Director for productions of Mulan, Jr. and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, woodwind musician in orchestras, bands, and pit orchestras for numerous productions, and training with the Pennsylvania Ballet, American Academy of Ballet (NY) and Ballet Pacifica (Irvine). She would like to express her gratitude to her family, the administration, faculty, and staff of CUSD, and the parents, community, and students of Coast Unified for embracing our arts programs and helping them to flourish!

    Sarah Avila-Celedon

    Assistant Director & Choreographer

    Sarah Avila Celedon has been involved in theater and dance productions for 15+ years. Most recently she has founded the Cheer and Dance Team at Coast Union High School and Santa Lucia Middle School. Sarah was inspired by dance at a very early age and as she got older her love for it grew even more. She began taking dance lessons when she was 2-years-old and as she got older, continued to train with the Academy of Dance and the Civic Ballet of San Luis Obispo; training in ballet, lyrical, tap, jazz, and hip-hop until she was 19.Sarah has done many productions at the San Luis Obispo Little Theater, where she was theDirector of the Academy of Children’s Theatre (ACT). Sarah also was a part of the Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders for a short time and is now a part of ArtBeat where she teaches all ages all styles of dance. Sarah enjoyed working on last year’s production of Throughly Modern Millie as well as Mary Poppins and hopes to continue in the future.

    Laura Parker

    Production Manager

    Laura Parker is the Production Manager for this incredible musical, Mary Poppins. Currently, she is the English 1 and 3 teacher at Coast Union. She graduated California Polytechnic San Luis Obispo with an English major, theatre minor and then her teaching credential. Laura participated in various aspects of the Cal Poly Theatre program from performing, directing, technical work, and writing. She has assisted, directed and volunteered for several community theatre performances the last few years.
