Based on the hit movie, the musical is set during 1985 with Robbie Hart as the lead singer in a wedding band. He's about to marry his girlfriend Linda. Julia is a waitress at the banquet hall where Robbie performs. She is waiting for her lboyfriend, Glen, to pop the question. The next week Linda leaves Robbie at the altar and Glen finally asks Julia to marry him. Glen leaves the planning to Julia who asks Robbie for help. It becomes clear that Julia is with the wrong guy and she falls for Robbie and vice versa. Robbie thinks there is no way he can compete with Glen, so he decides to leave the singing business and get a "real" job. Meanwhile, Julia realizes her true feelings and goes to see Robbie, who is now acting like a jerk. In shock, she goes to Vegas to get married to Glen. Robbie realizes his mistake and rushes off to stop the wedding. Will he make it in time?
