    Marilou Johnson is thrilled to be back in the theater. Her acting experience includes four years as Dorothy at The Land of Oz in North Carolina in the 70s, Emily in Our Town at Abingdon High School and Phoebe in Romantic Comedy at Arkansas State University. After a 32-year career as a professor and administrator at JMU, she is happily retired. She is grateful for her husband, granddaughters and mother who helped her run lines.

    Performing for the first time at Court Square Theater, Buffi Holland spent her acting career in Nashville, TN, where she appeared on multiple community theatre stages and directed multiple productions over the past 20 yrs.  Favorite stage credits for Ms. Holland include Violet Weston in August Osage County, Bessie in Marvin’s Room and Tammy in the feature film, Welcome to Inspiration, but confesses that Steel Magnolias has been a bucket list production since seeing it in theaters in her college days.  Directorial credits include The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe; Fences; Ashland Falls; and The Best Christmas Pageant Ever. In July 2023, she returned to her beloved Harrisonburg where she graduated college with a minor in Theater Arts. She is very excited to bring this show to you today.  Thanks for coming and enjoy the show!

    Helen Nafziger has had lead and supporting roles in Valley theaters for the past 20+ years. Her most recent theater experience includes The Savannah Sipping Society and Doublewide,Texas at ShenArts, and Arsenic and Old Lace at Court Square Theater. This is the second time she has had the role of Clairee. Helen is a retired Director of Career Services at EMU. She maintains a busy Airbnb. She hikes weekly. Helen and Ken have three children plus in-laws and eight grandchildren.
