NOTE FROM THE DIRECTOR
When I first saw this show, I fell in love with it. “Catch Me If You Can” had the wit and humor of modern musicals with more than a tip of the hat to the musicals of the past. The big dance numbers and dancing girls invoked memories of musicals played on television on those days I stayed home from school. While I like elaborate sets like the one in “Noises Off”, I am also quite fond of modern vignette sets or even 4 chairs as in “Title of Show”. As always, Creative Arts Theater (CAT) looks for ways to take big theater productions and adapt them for our little theater in order to expose more people to the arts. This show was certainly a challenge. It is a fast paced run through Frank Abignale Jr.’s life told with the help of song and dance and over 60 costumes.
I like to challenge my actors and they certainly stepped up for this. If you are one of our followers, be ready to see a lot of new faces. I was very lucky to get such a talented group of regional performers. The work, the long hours and the late nights were all completed with the ultimate goal of some laughter, some smiles and maybe a few tears from the audience. None of this would have been possible without the help of my loving wife and family who are all involved with this production. An amazing crew and tons of help from friends and family members, plus a very talented choreographer, help bring the show to life. I am forever grateful to them and to you, our audience. Enjoy.
SPECIAL THANK YOU
CAT would like to especially thank Hannett/Thorn for the use of their sound equiptment, Tim Ekstrand for his building expertise, VVC for the phone booth, Shane Churchill and Paul Peterson for costume/prop pieces, and the High Desert Center for the Arts for giving us a place to perform.
