    Iyona Blake

    Writer/Director

    is a DC based actor, singer and recitalist, educator, vocal coach, and playwright. She is the 2017 Helen Hayes Award Winner for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Musical for her role as Caroline Thibodeaux in Caroline, or Change, and has recently been seen in Beauty and the Beast (Mrs. Potts), Crowns (Velma), The Sound of Music (The Mother Abbess), Spunk (Blues Speak Woman), Ain't Misbehavin' (Armelia McQueen), Scottsboro Boys (The Lady, understudy/performed), Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill (Lady Day), Titanic (Caroline Neville), Jelly’s Last Jam (Gran Mimi). The Wizard of Oz (Glinda), Blues in the Night (The Lady), Once on This Island (Asaka) and more. Iyona produces and hosts a weekly podcast called “Sister Conversations.” Her musical, Diagnosed, with music by Greg Watkins, premiered at Theatre Alliance for their “Word Becomes Action” Festival, and her “Blight Flight” one act play premiered in Creative Cauldron’s “Difficult Conversations” series last spring.

    Scenic Designer

    Theatrical Designer, Margie Jervis, is the Visual Arts Educator and Resident Scenic, Costume, and Puppet Designer for Creative Cauldron. She received her BFA from Rhode Island School of Design in 1978 in Sculpture with a specialty in Glass. Her multifaceted art career spans over 40 years, includes design, fine arts, from the Seattle Opera to the Kennedy Center, and more.

  • Darrell Clark

    Costume Designer

    CEO of his Chrome Eye Creative Services Company, Darrell attended PRATT INSTITUTE and F.I.T. majoring in fashion design. He has assisted on successful on and off-Broadway productions, working for directors Debbie Allen, Kenny Leon and Spike Lee; and costuming superstars such Mariah Carey, Justin Timberlake, Missy Elliott, Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry, Beyoncé and Janet Jackson.

  • Venus Gulbranson

    Lighting Designer

    is a proud Filipino lighting designer for theatre, dance, and events. DC-area credits: N (Keegan Theatre), Reform Live (Dance Place), Asst: RENT (Signature Theatre), The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time (Round House Theatre). Regional credits: Asst: To The Yellow House (La Jolla Playhouse), and serves as an Artistic Advisor for Monumental Theatre.
