Mary Poppins - April 09 - April 18, 2021

Creek Wood High School

 End Notes

When Mary Poppins enters the Banks home, she finds dysfunction, loneliness, and disarray. It is amazing to see the growth of these characters around Mary Poppins. She comes to help the children, but ends up helping the grown ups in the process. What is even more amazing is the growth that I have seen in the students since January. As we have grown as a department, we have been able to take on more challenging material. Mary Poppins is by far the most challenging musical we have performed in my time at Creek Wood. Tonight's performance will show that the students have stepped up to the plate to take on these complex characters, music, and technical aspects.

To the seniors, thank you very much for the time, effort, and dedication you have given to this program. It has been amazing to watch you grow throughout our three years together. I love you all dearly, and I cannot wait to watch and cheer you on as you enter the next chapter of your lives. Remember that you always have a place here.

To my production team, none of this would be possible without you. This group pushes me to think outside the box and be better for our students. Thank you for all of your hard work.

To the parents and volunteers, thank you sharing your wonderful students with us. It is the best part of my job to teach and watch the growth in these students. I am thankful for all of the time, effort, and gifts you give to the program. I have been very blessed with such a supportive community!

Thank you for coming to our production of Mary Poppins. I hope you are transported the wonderful world of Edwardian England with the nanny who is "practically perfect in every way." Enjoy the show!
