NOTES FROM THE DIRECTOR

My journey with Steel Magnolias starts long ago. This show is my all-time favorite play and the movie will always hold such a special place in my heart. When I was younger, I would watch this show with my mom every time it came on.

It never mattered what we were doing or how long the movie had left. We dropped everything, cuddled up on the couch, and just enjoyed our time together. Every time I watch this movie I find brand new things that I fall in love with.

Growing up in a small town, I lived with these women. I could pinpoint each of these six women from my family and the women I met throughout my time in my hometown. My heart will always be rooted so deeply in this show.

I always kept this show in the back of my mind when picking our season. This show kept calling my name this year. Most of my students know that this show is THE show and when I announced that we were going to do it, the room was filled with excitement and nerves. The eventual cast strived so hard to keep this show near and dear to my heart and honestly, they exceeded every single expectation I could have ever dreamed of.

To my amazing cast: Thank you so much for bringing this show to life for me. This One Act journey has been such a whirlwind. I have loved every single second and the amount of gratitude I have will never be able to be expressed. You have brought this show to life in a way that truly will impact my life for years to come. You not only kept the show near and dear to my heart but you made it mean so much more. If my mom was able to see this show, she would have been so immensely proud.

To Mirsky: You brought my vision to life. You created a hair salon that truly makes my heart so happy every single time I think about it. This year has been one of the best years of my career and it is all thanks to you. I am at a loss for words every time I try to express my gratitude.

To Schoenky and Auerback: Thank you for everything you did to drive this process. Keeping me calm and lifting me up. I am so thankful for the two of you and I truly feel like when the four of us are together, we are unstoppable.

To my Seniors: I have so many words. You have filled me with nothing but pure pride and happiness over these last few years. I am so insanely happy to be able to have been a part of your high school journey. I cannot wait to see the new heights each of you will reach. This is a bittersweet see you later but it's time for you each to finish your Creekview journey and start the new chapters in your stories! I love you all so dearly!
