From Mrs. Bable
I have been the middle school drama advisor for about 7 years. This year has been a wonderful experience. It has been my pleasure to help create the “School of Rock” with all the Crestview Theater students. This is the first time that the high school and middle school theater students have worked together on a production. I would like to thank the high school students for all their encouragement and guidance with the middle school students during this undertaking. I would also like to thank the middle students for making this so much fun! I know this was very different from what you are used to. Thank you to the parents for lending us your talented children for months of practice. I love the fact that these drama students are involved in many extracurricular activities. Here at Crestview the students have an opportunity to try everything they are interested in. Sit back, relax and I know you will enjoy the show!!!
Marcia Bable
Director/Producer
From Mr. Crawford
Good day, folks, and welcome to Crestview Theater’s production of “School of Rock”! This has been an especially fun production to be a part of, as rock music has been an integral part of my life for as long as I can remember–from listening to the Beatles, Doors, and Dylan on my parents’ turntable as a tiny tot to singing in hard rock bands as a young adult. I’ve also received the opportunity to perform in this show alongside some very talented students and Crestview staff persons, which has been an absolute blast! In addition to the fantabulous cast, stage crew, lighting and sound designers, set builders and painters, caterers, parents, the band, and all of you in the audience, I’d like to give a long, loud falsetto screech of appreciation to Eric Bable, Marcia Bable, Gretchen Olsen, Donna Burnell, and Alyssa Titi. Mr. Bable is an extremely charismatic and gifted fellow who, despite all of his prodigious accomplishments, is constantly searching for new ways to make the Crestview musical experience as enriching and memorable as possible for the students…I’m forever grateful to him for giving me the opportunity to be part of this program for the past eight years! Thankfully, Mrs. Bable has lent her talents to the high school side after adroitly directing several wonderful middle school productions at Crestview, and we’re all the better for it–she’s kept this very large production organized and humming along (which is no easy feat!), and has done so with her usual effervescent warmth and kindness. For the second year in a row, we’ve been fortunate to have Mrs. Olsen’s expertise and steady hand guide us forward in all areas, including blocking, vocal coaching, choreography, and costuming (!). Mrs. Burnell has worked hard as well to make sure the costumes for the show are dynamite and has spent a great deal of her time on this, and Miss Titi’s been an invaluable addition in terms of helping these students learn their vocal parts and providing stellar keyboard work. Anyway, thanks for coming and ROCK ON!!!
