    Resident Acting Instructor

    Claire is the an artist and educator based in Charlottesville, VA. She has worked onstage and off at many local theatres and has degrees in both Fine Arts and Education. As a longtime theatre teaching artist, Claire has taught many different classes, camps, workshops, and has directed multiple youth shows. She believes that a strong strong emphasis on ensemble work, building community, and having fun are the backbone for any positive theatre experience!

    Dream Team Director/Producing Artistic Director

    Melissa Charles is the Founder and Producing Artistic Director of DMR Adventures, the Founder/President of the Belmont Arts Collaborative, and a Co-Founder of Musical Theatre MEGACamp. She is a professional actor, director, choreographer, and educator, and has produced, directed and choreographed over 80 productions. A member of the Actors Equity Association (AEA) and SAG-AFTRA, she has worked as an actor in theatre, film, and television in NYC, LA and in regional theaters throughout the country. She has a Certificate in Non-Profit Management from Duke University and a B.A. in Drama from the University of Virginia and resides primarily in Charlottesville, VA where she lives with her supportive cheerleaders - her husband, Matt, and son, Cooper.

    Amalie Hendricks

    Guest Choreographer

    Amalie is 16 years old and attends St. Anne’s-Belfield School. Some of her most recent credits include: Helene (Sweet Charity), Annabeth Chase (The Lightning Thief), Amy March (Little Women) and Bebe Benzenhemier (A Chorus Line). When not on the stage, Amalie can be found dancing at The Orange School of Performing Arts, or maybe on the tennis courts! She would love to thank the amazing DMR community for their continuous support throughout her theater journey. Enjoy the show!
