PRODUCTION WHO’S WHO
W. William Cobb (Director) has been directing children’s musical theatre since 1989, at Bird Rock, Loma Portal, and, since 2001, Dana Middle. In 2007, he was recognized with the Freedom Medal from the Valley Forge Foundation. In 2008, the County Dept. of Education’s Visual and Performing Arts Department awarded him the Bravissimo Award for Theatre. Outside of the classroom, he has continued to perform as a folk singer, choral singer, theatre actor, and opera performer. He also stood in line to be an extra in “Anchorman II,” but that’s another story. He wants to thank his wife, Linda, for all her work on all of these shows.
Tammy Smith (Choreographer) is a native San Diegan who started to dance at the age of four. She has studied many different genres of dance at several different dance studios, participated in numerous dance conventions, and won countless awards through her dance competitions. At the age of 16, she began teaching with the Janie Cushing Dance Studio. That same year, her competition students went on to win four sweepstakes and numerous 1st place trophies, and were honored to receive many judge’s choice awards for choreography. Tammy has danced professionally with the USO as well as the Tom Jepperson Dancers. She has also spent a good portion of her career volunteering her choreography skills with various school programs, including nine years with the El Capitan High School Ensemble Show Choir and Dance Department. Tammy was also proud to choreograph “Oklahoma,” “Pirates of Penzance,” and “The Wizard of Oz” for Dana Middle School. Her most recent choreographic achievement was “Freedom Train,” produced by the Vanguard Theater Group. Tammy continues to instruct both recreational and competition level dance classes at Metro Dance.
