Footloose - March 07 - March 15, 2014

Davis High School

 End Notes

Directors Note:

Originally I selected this musical for its fun music and dance, but what I was surprised to discover was the depth of emotion contained in its plot.  It’s a story of two families- one broken and one crippled by grief, who are both trying to cope with aching hearts in the best way they can.  An entire community is sucked into their wrestle with intolerance and rebellion, prejudice and acceptance, and fear of change masked behind a rigid standard produced by good intentions.  We each can relate to their struggle as we face changes within our society today and rise above feelings of rejection and loss.

I hope you will enjoy stepping back into the music, dance and fashions of the 80’s.  You will not be disappointed by the performance of our talented cast members who have put their hearts and souls into this show.  In addition, I hope you will be touched by the transformation of hearts softened with love and rejuvenated by the power and importance of relationships.

Thank you for your support.
