The Deer Lakes Drama Boosters are so pleased that you are in the audience today! We hope that you enjoy today's performance and that you have the opportunity to return to see both casts. It is amazing how, while the words are the same, each performance has its own, unique magic.
While the curtain may be closing on “Our Town” soon, there are many more opportunities to see and hear the members of our drama department.
In December, our choirs begins their performance season. You can hear the high school choirs present “Feathers, Wings and Other Flying Things” on Monday, December 12th, and our middle school choirs with “More Winter Songs” on Tuesday, December 13th. Both concerts are at 7:00pm in the high school auditorium and are free to the public. Look for the high school choir also around town at the Allegheny County Courthouse, The Alle-Kiski Valley Historical Society and Saint Victor’s Church. More information to follow.
Our drama season continues in 2023. In February, our middle schoolers hit the stage with “Peter Pan Jr.”. Based on the classic story by JM Barrie, this promises to be a fun-filled musical adventure suitable for the whole family. Then in April, our high school performers return for “The Secret Garden”. This show is based on the classic novel of the same name, and features one of the most gorgeous scores in all of musical theater. Many of the roles are double-cast, so be sure to come twice!
The Drama Boosters would like to thank everyone who has donated their time and resources so far this year to help ensure our students have the best opportunities possible. We are always looking for more volunteers, and are extremely grateful for everyone who supports us. Thank you, too, to Mr. Derby for spending countless hours with our kids, laughing with them at their “not always so funny” jokes, believing in them, and bringing out each student’s very best.
