Department of Theatre Michigan State University

A Note From The Artistic Director

A Note from the Artistic Director:

Well, it is finally here after a delay of two years– our 60th Anniversary of presenting free theatre to Mid-Michigan audiences. During that time our donations understandably dwindled and we return to you with a reduced season (no children’s show and a reduced company.) But true to our mission we are still providing free entertainment and a kids camp for you. We pay our company members and we hope you’ll consider making a donation to keep Summer Circle Theatre free. We started this SCT rehearsal process by asking those who worked for this company in the past to talk about their favorite thing about Summer Circle Theatre. And the resounding answer was community. The community that the company creates with each other by working on so many shows in such a short time but most importantly the community bond between performers, designers, and audiences. Your energy and enthusiasm for SCT are what make the Department of Theatre’s largest and longest outreach project worth producing each year. We’re glad to see you back. Or if you are new to SCT– welcome and we hope you’ll make Summer Circle Theatre a tradition each summer like so many others.  — Rob Roznowski
