Disney's Aladdin JR. - March 25

Dexter Regional High School

 End Notes

Dear patrons,

It truly has been a pleasure to work with these students again.  COVID has made these last two years very difficult on our program.  Trying to put together a project of this magnitude is a real tall order, and the challenges have been greater coming off of a pandemic.  But, here we are!

I want to thank the kids for working very hard on getting this show ready.  Not only did we have the normal headaches which included working around sports, work, transportation, Winter Carnival, and Student Led Conferences, but we also had to deal with myself getting COVID, and loosing five practices!  But, because of their good work ethic, they pulled through and still did a wonderful job.

I want to congratulate our four graduating seniors, Molly Bennett, Ellie McComb, and Chara Dreemurr.  It truly has been an honor and a privilage to be your teacher and director.  Thank-you for the last four years, and best of luck on your future endeavors!

Finally, I want to give a special thanks to Sydney Fogler and Cadence Tasker for their insight and vision into making this musical what it is.  This show is surely heavy with dancing, which they both so graciously choreographed.  Thanks again, ladies!

In closing, we have been through a lot since March 12, 2020.  The saddest day of my career was on that day, when I showed up for practice to see every student crying their eyes out.  Everyone was confused, and everyone was scared.  Everyone was eager for an answer, and hoping that this whole COVID thing would sideline the show for a couple of weeks.  Well, those weeks turned to months, which turned to two years. Like I said to the kids, things are different than what they were.  Yes, we are only doing one show this year.  Yes, we are venturing into the world of livestreaming.  Yes, we have a relatively new cast, who had to learn the ropes on the fly.  But, no matter what happens, we can say with confidence that Dexter Regional High School has put on a musical this year! I hope that every student who has participated in this year's show can find the closure that the previous cast could not.  Because with closure comes hope for a brighter future.

Thank-you for watching,

Mr. Brabant
