When it came time to choose our shows for the year, I wanted to help celebrate the school's 10th anniversary. With that in mind, we chose Our Town, which was the first full production produced here at the school, but we changed things up a little when it came to the musical. Our first musical was High School Musical, but that show is essentially just a retelling of Grease. So, since Grease our second musical, I figured why not just restage the real thing! This show has been part of my life for the past 35 years, when I played Roger during my freshman year of high school. It's been an incredibly fun experience sharing this with our students!
The closing of each musical also closes out my work with many of these students as they prepare to graduate and move to their next phase of life. With this in mind I'd like to take a moment to acknowledge and thank these wonderful people for all their work!
Ayman Azizuddin - It's been amazing to see your growth as an artist and a person! Thank you for all of your work and your wonderful attitude toward all of the challenges presented to you!
Marie Bast - Where can I even begin?! You've been such an important part of our program for the past four years! Very few students have shown the dedication that you have during their time in the drama program! You should be very proud of all that you have accomplised! I'm very proud of you!
Hyunsu Jang - It's been so wonderful to have had the opportunity to work with you the past two years! You have such a wonderful presence on stage and it has been a joy to work with you over the past two musicals!
Alison Lee - It's amazing to see how much progress you have made over these past four years! I'm still amazed how the very quiet and shy freshman has grown to be such a major part of this program and one of its most dependable leaders! Thank you for sharing your talent and leadership with us for the past four years!
Joshua Lee - It's been so much fun working with you on this production! Thank you for joining us! I'm thankful to have worked with someone with such a wonderful attitude about everything!
Olivia Lee - Thank you so much for your dedication and your desire to be your absolute best! It's been so much fun working with you and your wonderful personality! I hope that you had as much fun working on these shows as I have had working with you!
Connie Yoon - It's been so much fun working with you these past few years! You have such a wonderful way of making everyone around you feel comfortable and have fun! I'm so glad that you stepped out of your comfort zone and made time to be in the past two musicals!
Bianca Zhou - Watching you perform has always been a joy! You have such an enthusiasm and professionalism when approaching the work that you do and I am thankful that you have shared that with us! I'm excited to see where your future leads you!
