  • ROGER BROOKS head shot

    ROGER BROOKS

    Trombone

Roger was first introduced to the world of musicals in 9th grade through his sister Annie, who volunteered him for The Addams Family pit band, in which he played cello. Roger quickly came to love the tight-knit, high energy atmosphere of the pit, and as soon as the musicals resumed after Covid, he was eager to join the band again. Twelfth Night forced Roger to quickly build stamina and confidence on the trombone and continue to grow his love for the pit band. Now, in Chicago, Roger gets to experiment with fun mutes, play with his ITP friends, and see the performance from a new angle. Roger would like to thank his parents, for pushing and supporting him in his musical endeavors for the past 13 years, Annie, for introducing him to the pit band experience, and Mr. Meyer, for being such a wonderful band leader.

  • JORDIN BROWN head shot

    JORDIN BROWN

    as Reporter

Jordin is excited to be a part of the ensemble in Chicago! This is her first time being a part of a Durham Academy Theatre production and it has been such a great experience! She has learned the value of relationships and partnership through her cast members and mentors, and through them she has created a lifelong experience that she will never forget. Being a part of the DA theater has opened her up to another community in DA and she is so grateful to the cast for supporting and being there for her.

  • KAIA CHEN head shot

    KAIA CHEN

    as Velma Kelly

Kaia has loved her time in the Durham Academy theater program. She trained and performed outside of school for several years, yet she feels that the shows at DA have made the most impact on her. At Durham Academy, she’s been in the ensemble of The Addams Family, the Nasty Interesting Man in Eurydice, Olivia in Twelfth Night, and #14 in The Wolves. She is so excited for Chicago and has loved playing Velma Kelly. She would like to thank her family, her friends, the brilliant cast, production team, crew, band, and everyone else who made this show possible — especially Mr. Bohanek, Mr. Meyer, and Ms. Laci for making her the performer and person she is today. Much love to you all! Thank you for making this program wonderful.
