Tom Parr - Artistic Director

 

Tom Parr IV, co-founder of East Dallas Arts, has been a director of professional and educational theater for the past 15 years. He was a founding member of Second Thought Theater in Dallas where he won numerous awards for his achievements as a director. In 2010, Tom joined St. John’s Episcopal School where he currently serves as the Integrated Drama Specialist and Arts Chair. Tom has built the drama integrations into an essential piece of the culture of the school, resulting in a 90-95% participation rate in the 7th and 8th grade musicals. His after-school classes and summer camps continue to be in high demand.

 

Logan Herod - Choral Director

 

Logan Herod is a native of the Dallas area who started piano and voice lessons at an early age. Logan joined the Children’s Chorus of Greater Dallas in the 4th grade, and was a member through her senior year of high school. After being active in the music program in the Highland Park School District, Logan was accepted to attend Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Downtown Dallas, focusing in Vocal Music and Music Theory. While there, she also participated in two different select choral ensembles, Jazz Singers, and Opera Workshop. She then attended Oklahoma City University, where she graduated in four years with two Bachelor’s degrees: one in Vocal Music Education and the second in Church Music with a concentration in Organ Performance. She then returned to the Dallas area to begin her teaching career and pursue graduate school. She is currently working towards a Master’s in Sacred Music with a concentration in Music Education from SMU. In addition to teaching music at St. John’s Episcopal School, Logan maintains an active performance schedule, and is often featured as a soloist during various church services throughout the year.

 

Amiti Perry - Choreographer

 

Amiti Perry received her BA in Dance from the University of North Texas and MFA in Choreography from The Ohio State University. Her varied background includes teaching, performing and choreographing classic and contemporary modern, jazz, ballet, tap and musical theater. She has presented and performed nationally and internationally with various professional contemporary dance companies. Over the past 20 years, Amiti has choreographed 50+ musical productions for community theaters, independent productions, high schools, middle schools and theater camps. She is the resident choreographer for Theatre at The Colony and currently teaches at the UNT Department of Dance and Theatre and KD Conservatory in Dallas.
