Into the Woods - April 07 - April 09, 2022

Edison High School

a message to the cast and crew

The first time I saw Into the Woods was back before Netflix started their streaming service. I remember being enchanted by Bernadette Peters’ performance and Stephen Sondheim’s beautifully intricate score. It is one of my favorite musicals, and I have always hoped to find the right group of students to perform it with. You were the perfect ensemble to bring this show to life. Not only because you are all exceptionally talented, but because you are all naturally intelligent, kind, and compassionate. Despite the challenges of our rehearsal process, I will always remember this show fondly because of your unwavering dedication to the program, and your love for each other. I can’t wait for your audience to see you all shine! Remember and use the lessons you learned as you continue on your journey “through the woods.”

Class of 2022 - I truly feel like I got cheated out of time with all of you. I will always be thankful to the class that kept theatre alive despite the virus. It truly is “an honor and a joy to be in show business.” As you graduate, and begin the next chapter of your life, “there is more I cannot wish you” than to wish you find love, happiness, and purpose. You are a special class filled with such promise, and I look forward to hearing about your many successes. Please remember, “someone is on your side… no one is alone.”

All my love and respect,

Mrs. O’Connor
