 Notes from the Director

This play is, more than anything, about perceptions: the way we view events and the way that can match up with or differ completely from the manner in which someone else views the same event.  Notice, for example, how some elements of Karen and Nancy Lee's story about the drive that Nancy Lee and Bjorn take are exactly the same, yet the meaning and subtext behind them are different.  It is for this reason that a jury of twelve people one night can view the show and pronounce one verdict, and a jury of twelve different individuals, seeing the same show, could give a different verdict the next night.  This show, with its unique characters, challenging premise, and opportunity for audience interaction and participation, has provided me and my actors with opportunities for growth, challenges, and the privilege of allowing our audience to take a vital part in our production, and for that, I am grateful.  I hope that you enjoy this production as much as we have enjoyed the process of preparing it for you.
