This show has been an enormous act of love, combined with some incredible dedication and sacrifice from the cast, crew, and their loved ones. It has taken a remarkable community to bring Billy the Bomber to life and we'd be remiss if we didn't thank all the people that made this show a reality:
- John Stephens, who has been a supportive partner to the cast and creative team throughout the process. The sacrifices he and his family have made to bring this show to life are unparalleled. None of this would be possible without his generosity.
- Mary Sue Price, who not only created a beautiful play, but was an open and collaborative partner to make sure Billy's story was true to life. We hope we do it justice.
- Jim Petty, who on top of being an incredible creative collaborator and partner, makes sure Joey and I don't kill ourselves during load-in. There have been many close calls over the last thirteen years.....
- Kira Troilo, who lent Joey her invaluable insight and advice regarding handling the subject material with respect for all people invovled, and making sure that all actors and staff could work together in an open, supportive and comfortable environment.
- Michael Lacey, who we ask to wear a million hats and who wears them all with a smile, professionalism, and a sense of humor that keeps us all sane.
- Evelyn Wenger, who hardly blinked when I told her we were going to put up a show a few weeks before our wedding and (shockingly) didn't murder me (yet).
- The incredibly kind, caring, and hard-working cast that has spent countless hours bringing these characters to life. Thank you for trusting us and being a part of this team - we can't imagine a better group of people to be tackling this with.
And finally, we want to thank all of you!
Emergent TheatreWorks was a little dream Joey and I came up with in February 2020 - right before the world was launched into a global pandemic. To have the chance to stage our second live production of a show we've known and loved for over a decade is a dream come true and we couldn't have done it without you.
We hope you join us in the fall for another premiere of a new musical, Making Home, where we'll have another opportunity to bring a new work to life in close partnership with the writing team.
Thank you for supporting Emergent TheatreWorks as we continue to expand upon our mission of bringing new, underheard voices to the New York stage.
