It has been my greatest honor and pleasure to have the opportunity to get to work with each and every one of you. I am still in awe of all you were able to accomplish amidst the chaos.
To the wonderful production drama students, all I can say is wow! You did it! I am so beyond proud of you all. This was certainly an unconventional year, for many reasons, but you took that in stride and I never heard an ounce of complaint. I know that you will all take this experience as a reminder of all you are capable of, and live with that in the back of your mind always!
Specifically to the seniors in production drama, I have had the wonderful opportunity of getting to work with you intermittently throughout your years as an upperclassman. I am so grateful to have gotten to see you each blossom into such kind-hearted, resilient young adults.
- Ashley, your positivity is infectious. Please never lose that. It is such a rare and wonderful attribute, and I know that that combined with your dedication and passion will take you so far!
- Justin, your work ethic astounds me. You put so much of yourself into this project, and wow does it stand as a testament to your abilities! I could not be more proud to have gotten to be your teacher!
- Lena, you have taken on so much this year, and still managed to carry yourself with poise and grace! I could not be more proud of the adult you are becoming, and I can't wait to see how you change the world! Keep listening to your jazz!
- Brianna, you are filled to the brim with character! In the short couple of years, I have gotten to know you, I have found myself so enthralled with all you do! You have a gift for bringing joy to people, please keep that up always!
- Ryan, I am so proud of you. This was a new hurdle for you, and you chose to take it! You have proven yourself to be such a dedicated and resilient young man, and I truly believe that you will go on to do such great things in your life!
To the wonderful team of adults who made this production possible, you have created a masterpiece. Each of you plays such an integral role in the efficacy of this program, and boy did you deliver with this production! Not only did you create this beautiful show, but you are also each adored by the students and myself. I have no words beyond thank you. Thank you so much for all you have done, for braving this new world of arts during the Covid-19 pandemic, and thank you for all of your patience with me. Amber Marroquin, Jenny Moon-Shaw, Erik Przytulski thank you, and I admire you more than you'll ever know!
This production is on the cutting edge of how to operate in the throws of turmoil. We learned, we adapted, and we prevailed. I hope each of you takes some time to celebrate this overwhelming win!
