About the Student-Directed One Acts
Theatre 3 & 4 are honors classes because of the work required to identify and practice the role, skills and responsibilities of a director. From the time they are in Theatre 1 the students identify and explore directorial leadership styles and practice leading a small group in rehearsing scripted and non-scripted performances. They have also had a couple of years formulating and applying blocking in rehearsals for performance.
In addition to their role as a director, the students must explore collaborative relationships between performers and production team by working with the Tech Theatre 1 and 2 students to create their vision for the world of the play presented to you during this performance. Our Tech Theatre 1 and 2 students have created the sound and lights for their show and many of them are running the sound and light board for the first time today.
Please stay after the show to congratulate our student directors and technical theatre students on a job well done!
