I’ve been a dramatic child since birth, but since 7th grade I’ve taken those talents to the FC theater department. I’ve been in Spring play/musical for 6 years, and I’ve been privileged to be in one act for these last 4 years, participating in “Jack in the Box,” “Awaiting Wonderland,” “Baggage,” and “Clowns with Guns.” Theatre has taught me countless lessons—I’ve learned how to emotionally connect to a message without sacrificing my sanity. I’ve learned how to take constructive criticism (even if that criticism is just “No, Kyra, never do that again.” [thanks Whit]). But most importantly, I’ve learned that when a team becomes a family, everyone becomes utterly dependent on each other, and yet a single person could never break us. So thank you, theater, for some real good times.

I've been involved with the spring play/musical since 7th grade. Even though our days end late at 8:30 during the spring, the time always seems to fly by at play practice, and it's totally worth it. It's such a fun way to spend time with friends and push yourself to try new things. Acting has been an amazing experience, and I've picked up so many new skills. Looking ahead, I'm excited about my plans for next year to attend the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. I’m going to be majoring in Ag Marketing and Communications.

Ever since I was a fifth grade British redcoat I was hooked on all things performance based. From singing in the choir room to entertaining an audience, I have learned to make the world my stage no matter where I may be. I am a six year member of the thespians and freaks. I am a thespian in One-Act-Play and Spring Play. I am also a proud freak due to my dedication to the local Monster Bash haunted house. I have spent my fair share of time in the ensemble but the seed of acting in me bloomed these last few years as I take my roles of a talk show host, a mermaid, a rich lady, a fairy, a cheerleader, and at last a pink lady. So today as you see me up on stage in a pink coat, we can reminisce together on my humble beginnings as I took on my first role, a red coat.
