Firebird Theatre and the Gunnison Arts Center are proud to present Theatre from the Machine, a series of short plays and sketches mostly written by artificial intelligence and performed in staged reading format by human actors. This hour-long night at the theatre is intended to examine the current state of AI in the performing arts and to reinforce the irreplaceability of human expression.

 

ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW SHADOWCAST

Get ready to do the Time Warp! Join us for a thrilling screening and sing-along of The Rocky Horror Picture Show, complete with a live shadow cast brought to you by Firebird Theatre, bringing the film to life right before your eyes. Expect outrageous fun, audience participation, and all the iconic songs you love. Whether you’re a die-hard fan or a first-timer, this cult classic is best experienced with a rowdy crowd and over-the-top performances. Costumes are highly encouraged—so break out your fishnets, corsets, and red lipstick! Let’s make it a night to remember—don’t dream it, be it!

This December, Firebird Theatre is proud to present Finegan Kruckemeyer’s galaxy-trekking Theatre for Young Audiences play. On a tiny blue dot somewhere in the Milky Way, 12-and-a-bit-year-old Simon Ives is a busy child, longing for a place where he can simply exist without the pressures of schedules or expectations. Meanwhile, at the farthest point of the universe, an undying Boy lives alone, looking out at distant happy planets and dreaming to connect. After a freakish yet entertainingly convoluted incident lands Simon at the Boy’s doorstep, the pair will discover that there’s more to their dreams than meets the eye!
