Greetings!
On behalf of the Sewanhaka Central High School District, Floral Park Memorial High School, and the Music Department, welcome to our 2026 musical production of Seussical!
Seussical has held a special place in my heart ever since I performed in it as an FPM student in 2014. Sharing this piece with the current students has been nothing short of a full circle experience. This show has inspired these budding young adults to tap into their childlike imagination and wonder. To have witnessed the students create a space where they can laugh, be silly together, and be kind to each other is something that I will cherish forever.
Thank you to our school administration, Mrs. Calabrese, Mr. Farina and Dr. Sullivan, for giving us the opportunity to run this program every year. Thank you to our custodial staff and security team for keeping our facilities clean, secure, and ready for use. Thank you to Mr. Tim O’Reilly for not only your tireless work and excellent skill on our production design, but for bringing our stage crew program to a new level. Special thanks to the stage crew students who have dedicated their time and energy into making this production with love.
Thank you to Ms. Samantha Koch for teaching this challenging score to our cast, they sound incredible! Thank you to Mr. Louis Dura for your diligent work with our brilliant pit musicians. Thank you to Mr. John Smykowski for believing in me to lead this program and for your amazing leadership of the music department.
I would also like to thank the parents of the Music Parents Organization and beyond who have supported their children in this program. Thank you for entrusting us with your children and helping us give them the best experience possible. None of this would happen without you and your support means the world to us!
Lastly, thank YOU, the audience, for joining us tonight and supporting arts education!
I would like to dedicate this performance to Laurie Ann Brancaleone Kenna, my beloved mother and former FPM music parent. Thanks to you, “I’ve got brains in my head and feet in my shoes.”
