Directing Legally Blonde? What, like it's hard?

Director- Mrs. Merlano

I am so incredibly proud of this production, my very first (but not last!) show at FSUS. With over 50 cast and crew members, a dedicated production team, 2 dogs, all in a cafetorium, there were many moments where I thought I had bitten off more than I could chew. In those moments, I thought of the dynamic characters in Legally Blonde, and how each of them are so driven to succeed: Emmett, always working so hard to be successful, Brooke, making the best out of bad circumstances, Elle, always being her authentic self, and Vivienne, unafraid to admit when she's wrong. Each of these characters are unpologetically themselves, and work to fight against the stereotypes that would otherwise hold them back. My wish for everyone who watches this show is that they believe in the power of being themselves, and continue to "Keep it Positive" at all times, in all seasons.

Producer/Music Director- Mrs. Meade

It's awesome to be producing my 13th show here at Florida High. I've been teaching here for 15 years and it's hard to believe that there are still shows that surprise me. This is certainly the case with Legally Blonde. This show teaches the power that each of us have simply by being genuine about who we are. I can't imagine a more compelling message for the very difficult period of time we've just weathered. We worked on our musical- Addams Family for 2 years and finally shared a video of it last year. We were beginning to worry that we wouldn't be singing or performing for even longer. However, this very energetic, hilarious and enchanting musical banishes these worries and lets us celebrate being positive while believing in ourselves. I appreciate all the hard work of our talented cast and crew.

Producer and Director

Throughout the course of the production process, so many students, parents, faculty, and staff members assisted in creation of Legally Blonde. Mrs. Jennifer Stallings makes everyone look great with all the work she does with our choreography, Mr. Matthew Porter has been building our sets for the last 12 years, Mr. Jamie Abbott has been helping with sound and lights for the last 4 years, Ms. Barb Davis has helped us with photography for the last 12 years, Ms. Hartsfield has run our programs and posters for the last 12 years and Mrs Syd Hockett has been creating our costumes for the last 13 years. We can't thank everyone enough who helped paint the set, feed the cast and crew, donated props, and so many other things to make this show happen.

From the bottom of our heart, thank you so much to everyone!

Go be, indubitably, Legally Blonde!
