Grease - March 13 - March 21, 2020

Fontbonne

 Director's Note

Grease, the classic, 50s inspired juke box musical is still ‘the one that we want’, even 20 years later!

Voted for by the Fontbonne Learning Community, Grease is the word and together The Good Fountain Players have worked hard to bring this show to life on the stage once again. While 20 years has passed, one thing remains the same; Fontbonne’s talent continues to shine on the stage and the energy this cast brings is sure to get everyone dancing in their seats and singing along to the songs we know and love.

Fontbonne is a unique school. We create the leaders of tomorrow. Our students are not afraid to speak their minds. They actively participate to bring awareness to social justice. They are confident and they are diligent. The officers of the Good Fountain Players are true examples of that. They lead the club with dignity and grace. I cannot express enough how hard they work to ensure that everything runs smoothly and successfully. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.

To quote Olivia Newton-John, “my memories are inside me - they're not things or a place - I can take them anywhere.” Seniors, as you move on, know that while you are destined for greatness, never forget where you have been. Hold on to these memories and take them with you on your journey through life.

Underclasswomen, and men, the best is yet to come! I am thrilled each and every one of you decided to be part of Grease this year, I look forward to working with you again soon!

This year, two new people have joined the Good Fountain Players team. Brendan Murray and Amy Valle have both been incredible additions to our program. Brendan Murray, B.C. High and Good Fountain Player alum, has joined us once again to take on a new role, and I am thrilled to introduce Brendan as Music Director. Eager to give back to Fontbonne, Brendan has graciously inspired our students and shared with them his love of music and performing. Amy Valle comes to us with a strong background in dance and she has been working with our students to truly bring out the best in them. I have seen students with all levels of dance ability shine on our stage and perform with all their heart.

Collectively, Brendan, Amy and I have worked with one goal in mind; to provide students with a positive, challenging, and inclusive theater program. We have combined our strengths and modeled for our students what it means to be committed to all aspects of theatre. I have truly enjoyed every minute of working with both of them.

But this show would not be possible without the dedication and support of so many people. This show has proved that it takes true collaboration to achieve success.

Special thanks to the dedicated team of set builders, Chris Winters, Paul Piotrowicz, Ed Fortier, Werner Boehl, and Brendan, who bring my vision to life. From platforms to juke boxes, I thank you for your patience and help in turning the CSJ Center into Rydell High! And very special Thank You to Carol Fortier. Her wisdom, talent, and experience have been a guiding force for myself, and The Good Fountain Players for many years, and will hopefully continue to be so for many more.

The Fontbonne Learning Community and Administration are ever supportive of the arts. We are so grateful for their ongoing support. I would also like to thank the Development Team for their tireless efforts to promote our program and encourage others to experience all that the Good Fountain Players have to offer.

To the families who have offered their time and talent, thank you, thank you, thank you! It takes a village and your efforts are greatly appreciated.

Enjoy the Show!
