'Twas the Night Before…. - December 21 - December 22, 2016

 Director's Notes

A NOTE FROM BONNIE.........

Christmas, a time of year that I have always loved.  Whether I was dancing down Main Street, USA at the Magic Kingdom, or helping my son get ready for Santa for the very first time.  This time of year seems to bring out numerous memories of childhood, family, friends and of course, the birth of our Savior.  I have always dreamed of doing a Christmas production that captures the excitement of a house "The Night Before Christmas" and combine it with the inspirational and moving story of our Savior "The Night Before Christ." 'Twas the Night Before takes you on a journey, an embarkation through the joys and innocence of your childhood to the plight of a busy parent at Christmas.  It is so easy with the hustle and bustle of the Holidays to forget what Christmas is really all about….HIS PRESENCE….NOT PRESENTS!

Welcome to the busy and chaotic home of Joseph and Marie Ford.  Joe spends countless hours at the office slaving away and trying to provide for his family, while at home Marie and J.J. (Joey Jr.) decorate the house and prepare for the coming Christmas Day and of course, the arrival of Santa. Through Act I, we observe Joseph begin to have a transformation from the chaotic and overworked to the serene and peaceful through the help of his son J.J.  Much like the birth of Christ has transformed our hardened hearts, we see J.J. do the same for his father. Act II opens with a newly transformed Joseph telling the infamous story of how a baby boy changed the entire world. The use of candles and light within the production symbolize and remind us all of the Light of Jesus and how one night, one baby and one Christmas changed the entire world.

I hope you enjoy this Christmas production as much as we all have putting it together.  I would like to take a minute to express my sincere gratitude to all of the Footprints Family Members, Footprints Faculty and Staff and of course, to the incredibly talented dancers that have helped make this vision a reality.
