A Christmas Carol: A Radio Play - December 05 - December 08, 2019

Forsyth Central High School

 Directors Notes

It’s hard to believe we are ending the year of 2019!  Welcome to A Christmas Carol!  We are excited to bring you this timeless, classic about the power of love, redemption, and how this season reminds us of our responsibilities to take care of each other as human beings.

Scrooge’s nephew, Fred, quotes, ” …I have always thought of Christmas as a kind, forgiving, charitable, pleasant time.  The only time I know of in the year when men and women open their hearts freely..”

Ebenezer reminds us, “Good spirit! Tell me that I can change these dreadful shadows you’ve shown me!  I’ll honor Christmas in my heart and try to keep it all the year.”

It’s been fun exploring the bygone days of radio theatre and the dramatic power of the voice in this production. Our songbirds and crooners also take us back to a simpler time of vintage holiday songs and heartfelt memories.  As in the 1940s, all performances are dedicated to our troops. It is just a small way to thank them for their service and sacrifice. It is our hope that, as these performances are being broadcast/streaming live, some of these troops out there can tune into the show.  I also want to say thanks to all the cast, crew, and musicians for bringing this story to life.

We will be presenting a Holiday Radio Show every year to the community as our way to say thank you for your support of the FCHS theatre program and the fine arts in Forsyth County.

From The Forsyth Central Stage Family, we wish you Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and a Joyous New Year!
