    Dan Lyng is a tenor, teacher of voice, and voice researcher. He serves as Theatre Teacher/Co-Director at FCHS and teaches private voice lessons at The Dance Refinery in Indianapolis. He is pursuing a Doctor of Music in Vocal Performance at the IU Jacobs School of Music. His dissertation will explore current training methods for young voices and suggest a new model focused on voice building, coordination, and habilitation. Additionally, Dan holds a MM in Voice Pedagogy from the New England Conservatory of Music and a BM in Music Teaching and Learning from the Eastman School of Music. His voice research spans topics including nasality in singing, voice acoustics and formant tuning, and child voice pedagogy. 

     

    Dan feels honored to collaborate with Haley Stroup, Andrew Knaup, Carter Waddle, Dr. Joel Shonkwiler, and the rest of this talented and dedicated production team. He would like to especially thank Kev for his patience, love and support.

    Haley Stroup is so excited to be co-directing her second show at FC Theatre: Mamma Mia!, with Daniel Lyng! Previously, she directed The Addams Family Musical, and worked as an English teacher and director at Western High School where she directed Little Women by Kate Hamill. Haley went to Ball State University where she got her Bachelor in Science in Theatre Education, with a minor in creative writing. While there, she directed at Muncie Civic Theatre, was a part of Collegiate A Cappella, and was a resident assistant. She would like to personally thank Shelby, Jason, Jeni, Josh, Ben, Ella, and Emmy for their constant love and support. Enjoy the show!
